This year we'll see Birchy riding the KTM 250 2stroke and KTM 300 2stroke.  Birchy is fully backed by the TRS Racing Team. Bikes were first tested on the Arenacross track in Byford in December 

Lots of training leading up to the 2013 season, gym, track training and full on work.  Racing the Summercross then the Golden Wheel were going to be a great lead up to the season but bad luck came into play with the 2nd race at Summercross with Birchy coming off the bike then run over by another competitor with no where to go in time. Shipped to hospital by ambulance, suspected separation type3 of the AC joint right shoulder, it was the start of a road to recovery that he would have to endure. After examination, it was apparent that the shoulder needed surgery. March 15th Birchy went under the knife to repair the damage caused by 2 accidents that had happened over the past 12 months. 
Surgery went well and with only weeks away from the 1st State round in Kalgoorlie, it's not known if enough movement will be there to be up for the challenge.  Getting stronger every day but it's going to be a last minute decision wether he'll ride in April. 
This has been a frustrating setback for him but he's determined and excited to get back to normal and get on with it.

Last year we mentioned about something coming up early this year.  Well that's all about a commercial Birchy was in for the new Grand Tiger Ute.  If you've seen it, then that's him in the MX gear holding his helmet.
