David Birch wins West Australian Pro Lite Championship

Extreme conditions at the Lightweight Motorcycle club for the last round the the W.A Motocross Championships.  Spectators saw the best riders in the state race in deep mud with some just not making around the track.
Moto 1, David wins 1st place and takes the championship with an unbeatable lead.  During the race it was a great effort for all the riders to stay on their bikes but Birchy throws a crowd pleasing slide straight down in the mud in front of the crowd.  He has the lead and gets back on just in time to cross the line still in first.  Moto 2 and final moto for the season, David takes 3rd place with most riders struggling to stay on their bikes in the slippery boggy conditions.  You couldnt tell one rider from the next they all looked the same colour.
With all the points calculated over all the rounds, it's now official that David has also won the highest points score for the season.  A great year for him as none of this would have been possible without the help of Chris Back Engineering.  He has tirelessly worked on David's bike ready for each round of the championship.  It has made a big difference this year to David's racing and Chris has been there to listen and give advice when needed.
Peter Delpup, David's sponsor from DSA Group Australia has also been a huge help this year.  Helping out at events like this last one in Byford, Peter and his son Luke Delpup washed David's bike between moto's and kept a close eye on how it was running. A huge effort in tough conditions.
A big thanks to Trevor Unstead from Moto Advantage for coming to check Dave's suspension at most of the events this year.  He's always there to give help when needed and a big thanks to Hayden for the pit board support this year.
Thankyou to the Honda Shop in Midland for supporting David this year. You have sold him a great bike to race and we've teamed it up with a great mechanic Chris Back.  Thanks to David's dad who also tirelessly works on David's bike when he's on his week off.  Thanks to Paul & Peggy Craine for the use of the FMT this year it's been great.
GBF Mining played big part of David's sponsorship this year giving him the opportunity to attend a few rounds of the MX Nationals. Thankyou Michael Foulds from GBF Underground Mining.
Alot of hard work goes into a season like this so every minute that is put in is appreciated. Without the help and support from family, friends and great sponsors who believe in you, none of this could be possible.
This was one of David's dreams had when he was a young kid on a 65cc, to win a Pro Lite Championship. Now he's done it.  Congradulations Birchy, you now have the #1 plate for Western Australia.
2011 WA Pro Lite Champion
