Birch MX update June July

Manjimup was a huge event again this year as David entered the Allstar Pro Lites class.  Tough field and good riding by all.  He finished 4th after a great weekend of racing.  Perfect weather, huge crowds and caught up with some old friends.
Bunbury State Round 3 came around quick and all preparation for this round completed with the bike in top form and the rider almost healed up from the shoulder injury.  No pain at least.  Great viewing at this track.  After a 4th place in Collie, points were needed to keep moving up the ladder. Staying consistent was important on the on the day and this is exactly what happened. Last race was the cruncher for the day when sitting in 3rd place, suffers a flat tyre and moves back to 10th to finish the race.
Geraldton held its first open this year with the lead up to the next state round.  David travelled to Geraldton with sponsor Peter Delpup from DSA Group and cleaned up in the Pro Lite class with a big win.  Thought the track was awesome.  Thanks to Pete for weekend it was good practice for the up and coming Geraldton State round.

During the 2 week break after the Geraldton Open, David purchased a Honda 450 from the Honda Shop in Midland. This is in preparation for the next season in 2013.
At the last minute David chooses to enter both classes of the State Championship, Pro Open and Pro Lites. Parents a little anxious about this but Birchy goes out and powers through both classes with great results. In the Pro Open class he blitzes a 3rd and two 4ths, 4th overall. A great start to his debut on the 450. Pro Lites also a 4th place overall. What a great weekend of racing and pretty shattered after running both classes but really happy with the outcome. David sits in 4th place overall in State Championship for 2012 with 2 rounds to go. We do hope for a podium finish this year.
Coming home Sunday night was a bummer as we had to work and Dave had Tafe. Headed off early so we could make it home at a decent hour but our Australian icon the ROO decided to upset the great weekend by taking out the front end of  the Hiace van. Devastated to say the least but all 3 in the vehicle were not hurt thankfully. She was a big roo. We're without the van for quite a few months now as the repairs are being organised with the insurance company.  Next race is this weekend 29th of July at Noble Falls, Gidgiegannup. BSA Cup. Then off to Southern Cross on August 5th for the King of the Cross where Birchy will be equal competition this year on the Honda 450. He set good results in previous years on the Honda 250 so he's hoping to do really well.  Big thanks to Sponsors, GBF Mining, DSA Group Australia, Chris Back Engineering, Honda Shop Midland, Steel Fitness, Fastlane Coaching, Forte Plant Hire. This sport is really hard work, not possible without the help and encouragement of these people.
