In 2007 David won the W.A State Championship in the 14-under 16 class, by 1 point. It was close racing all year and the final round at Chidlow. Spectators saw some awsome racing where the it was down to the final race of the day, David took out 1st place in the 3rd lap and won the title.
David entered the Australian Junior Nationals in the 125 class and 250 class but had mechanical problems and finished 11th overall in the 125 class. The 250 class didnt go well as more mechanical problems plagued the day with 3 bikes failing.
Once the Nationals were finished David decided that it was time to move up to a senior licence. His first race was at Southern Capes, Jindong. He took out 1st place in the clubman lites and contacted MWA about being graded up to Intermediate lites. He remained here throughout the following months. Competing in many opens. Tumblegum, Manjimup 15000 and Southern Cross Arena Cross. All of these results can be found on mylaps.com.
David continue to compete on his 125KTM in the Arena Cross events and finished in 2nd place for the State Championships in the senior lites class.
The W.A State Championships for 2009 had been one of David's best accomplishemnts as he has held top place throughout the season with a record lead in the points. After 5 rounds he had won the title. For the last round at Byford, he competed in the Intermediate Lites class and also consecutively the Pro-Lites class on the gate there after.
