This last round was tough in the sand of Wanneroo but Birchy rode well and kept the pace in the first 2 races in the top 10 but the last race it appeared there were problems. The track was rougher and alot of riders were crashing. Birchy clocked up 2 crashes in the last race, setting well out of the points but a great day of racing. Although the number one plate did'nt podium this year, a great effort was put in with the calibre of riders on the gate for each round. Enjoying this sport is something thats come to the fore front this year. Thats something Birchy does, he enjoys riding motocross. Yes he was disappointed with the placing but that's racing. You've got to be fit. You have to put the time in. Funds need to be there for racing through the whole season and its a long one. All this aside, its a great sport and it's in the blood and he going to keep riding.
Next year the 450's coming out full time. Not sure about the 250 yet. Will have to wait and see. What ever bike, Birchy will be back for the 2013 season of WA Motocross.
In David's own words " Definitely didn't want the season to go like it did, had a lot of downs but now got alot of motivation for 2013.
Just wanna thank everone that helped me out this year and stayed by my side. Looking forward to a bit of a break to freshen up, see you all next year.
Thanks again to all the sponsors this year and for all your past support. GBF Mining, Honda Shop Midland, Chris Back Motorcycle Engineering, DSA Group Australia, Fast Lane Coaching, Steel Fitness, Epic Lifestyle, Forte Plant Hire, Tracrite Suspension. All you guys made this season happen, without your support Birchy wouldnt be able to continue to compete at this level.
As for the last post regarding great news coming up. Keep an eye on the local Perth TV channels possibly in November for the new John Hughes Commercial. Check out the motocrosser.
We'll take a break for this year and come back fresh in 2013. In the mean time if something comes up we'll post it. And the video is still in the making for the highlights of the year so this will be posted as soon as it's finished.
Take care all.
