Birch MX August/Sept update 2012

This is a compliation of photo's that Gordon Pettigrew took of David's crash at Collie State Round 2
(He was a little bruised but no damage)

Hi everyone,
I'm still working on a summary video so you can all see some of the action Birchy got up to this year. There's a lot of footage to go through and not a lot of time off for editing so when it's done I'll post it up.

From last post went to King of the Cross.  Birchy finished all 3 motos with some good racing and came out in the top 10 in 8th place.  In the King of the Cross final feature race he finished in 8th place also. A great weekend.

BSA Cup at Noble Falls was the next race.  Hoping to get some great practice racing in for State Round 2 weeks later.  Not a good day overall at Noble Falls.  Both classes entered Open and Lites.  Trying to get as much riding in as possible.  Noble Falls is a great hard pack track but there's some big rocks lying around and Birchy copped a big one in the hand on the first race of the lites class.  The pain was so bad he could'nt move the hand so he pulled out.  He went back out for the next race and the last race he won the 15 minute moto but it wasn't enough on the day to podium.  With the injured hand, he decided not to take the 450 out on the track.  All the riders were suffering from welts being pelted with rocks.  That's racing.

Weeks later we're back to Noble Falls for State Round 5.  A muddy wet day.  The rain teamed down from the 2nd race for the pro lites and it was a mud bath.  Another DNF in the 2nd race and this time it was in the eye.  Not good. Took the goggles off, he couldn't see.  Birchy pulled off the side of the track quickly and was in a lot of pain.  After 20 minutes he could open it but still painful.  He went back out for the final moto but struggled in the mud and rocks.
It appears after this round that he still sits in 4th place with 42 points the difference to 3rd.  The last round coming up on the 16th of September at AJS Park Neerabup.

As it comes to the end of the season soon, Birchy is looking forward to the break.  Getting in some marathon training.  He entered the City to Surf in August finishing 25km.  He's hoping to enter a few more in the coming months so we'll let you know how he goes.
There's some great news coming up but we can't leak it yet.  We'll keep you guessing until it's released.  No clues.

Thanks to all sponsors. All the team at GBF Undergound Mining Mick Foulds, Sean Peters from the Honda Shop Midland.  DSA Group Peter Delpup, Ross from Forte Plant Hire, Greg Lane from Fastlane coaching, Adam Maley, Tracrite suspension, Ben Strange Steel Fitness, Warren Strange and Epic Lifestyle.  Everyone has been a great help Birchy this year.
